As a student provider in one of our 6 student clinics, I was responsible for managing the care of 45+ active patients on my roster. This involved keeping track of their treatment plan/recare status, scheduling them for appointments, providing comprehensive exams and treatment plans, and carrying out agreed upon treatment plans.
As a student provider, I also developed and utilized skills in taking medical history, patient communication, radiology, treatment planning, emergency care, non-surgical periodontal treatment, operative, single & multi-unit crown/bridge, extractions, and endodontics.

South End Community Health Center

As 4th-year dental students, we did a 5-week externship in a clinic outside of school, for which I went to a local community health center that has a dental clinic. For 5-weeks, I worked along dentist mentors, treating patients in a much more fast-paced and independent environment. The externship gave me additional exposure to doing operative dentistry, extractions, crown/bridge, endodontics, and emergency care, all in a much more timely manner than experienced in an educational institution.

As a dental assistant and student shadower, I worked chairside with the attending dentist, assisting in a variety of dental procedures, specifically placing a restoring implants. This position provided me with a great amount of exposure to the techniques and procedures in bone grafting as well.
Additionally, I took part in both back and front office operations, helping with sterilization procedures and front-office paperwork.

I started my own photography business during my time at UC Irvine, focusing primarily on events photography, shooting a wide range of live events, including weddings. I have a team of two others photographers whom I have trained to shoot larger events.
I have utilized my expertise and knowledge in the fundamentals of photography to level-up my dental photography knowledge, while teaching other students and dentists how to utilize it to become better clinicians.

IgniteDDS is an organization dedicated to helping dentists and team members become better leaders, entrepreneurs, and clinicians, through community and continuing education. As a member of the core team, I utilize my background in photo/video and work with industry-leading dental professionals across the nation to film and create educational courses for IgniteUniversity, an online on-demand CE platform.
Additionally, I help organize local seminars and networking events with prominent dental companies, for dental students and young dentists. One of these events was FastTrak, a weekend long seminar for young dentist interested in being practice owners, where I was able to give a 1-hour CE course on dental photography.

I currently am, and have been for the past year, the head teaching assistant (TA) for the first years' operative dentistry course, as well as TA for the second years' complete dentures course. As a TA, I attended class sessions as well as practice sessions to assist students that needed help, provide feedback on work, and provide one-on-one tutoring sessions.
As head TA, I am responsible for attending class sessions when available, and managing a group of approx. 40 student TA to ensure that there is adequate TA coverage at all times for class sessions as well as practice sessions. I provide support for TA's and students needing additional assistance, by setting up private tutoring sessions, and assisting the faculty in any other tasks necessary.

Starting my second year at Tufts, I was chosen to be the one of two class representatives on the school's admissions committee. As a committee member, I took part in the annual dental school application cycle, interviewing candidates for admissions. NEW DENTISTS SYMPOSIUM
A Seattle Study Club Affiliate
Joined a study club started by our Dean of Clinics, Dr. Mary-Jane Hanlon, which was an affiliate of the Seattle Study Club. We would meet on a monthly basis for 1.5 hours, and take part in a Seattle Study Club curriculum, modified for students. Monthly meetings included topics such as comprehensive treatment planning, dental photography, and anterior composite veneer hands-on.
